Cotopaxi Volcano in Ecuador

Cotopaxi National Park closed because of Volcanic activity

The popular Cotopaxi national park in Ecuador has been closed temporarily because of increased volcanic activity. The volcano is located 30 miles (50 km) from Quito. President Correa declared a state of emergency in Ecuador as hundreds of people in nearby towns have already been evacuated. Keep an eye on this if you are planning to visit the Galapagos Islands since Quito is a popular stop to get there.

Updated information can about the activity of Cotopaxi can be found at the website of the Instituto Geofísico de la Politécnica Nacional.

I remember when this news tried to change my travel plans but if anything it just made me want to go there more but I was permitted. I've always wanted to see volcano activity, which is why I'll be travelling a lot next year after saving up a lot of cash from tow truck Halifax services. Thanks for getting me inspired again!
